چکیده

Objective: To study the role of uterine artery notch on color Doppler ultrasound in prediction of PIH. Methods: This observational prospective longitudinal study was conducted in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur. Study sample comprised of 100 antenatal patients with 20-28 weeks of gestation attending OPD of Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology Mahatma Gandhi Medical College and Hospital, Jaipur from august 2013-14 and studied for the presence of Doppler changes during antenatal period. Results: The primary outcome was that uterine diastolic notch shows sensitivity 60%, specificity 100%, PPV 100 % and NPV 85.37% in predicting PIH. Conclusion: After analysing all the results, it has been concluded that uterine artery Doppler notching is good predictor for PIH.

Uterine Artery Notching on Color Doppler Ultrasound and Roll over Test in Prediction of Pregnancy Induced Hypertension.

OBJECTIVE To study the role of uterine artery notch on color Doppler ultrasound and roll over test in prediction of PIH. METHODS 100 women with high risk pregnancies were studied for presence or absence of uterine artery diastolic notch by Doppler ultrasound at 16-28 weeks. Same women were then subjected to roll over test at 28-32 weeks. RESULTS The primary outcome was that uterine diastoli...

I-46: Obstetrical Doppler

Accurate assessment of gestational age, fetal growth, and the detection of fetal and placental abnormalities are major benefits of sonography. Color Doppler can be used to assist in the identification of vascular architecture, detection of vascular pathology and visualization of blood flow changes associated with physiologic processes and disease states. The clinical applications of obstetrical...

Doppler ultrasound screening predicts recurrence of poor pregnancy outcome in subsequent pregnancies, but not the recurrence of PIH or preeclampsia.

OBJECTIVE To assess the role of Doppler uterine artery screening in the prediction of recurring hypertensive disorders in a high-risk population. METHODS Ninety-four women with a history of hypertensive disorders in previous pregnancies underwent ultrasound color Doppler to analyze blood flow in the uterine arteries at 21-22 weeks of gestation. We evaluated the performance of the Pulsatility ...

Predicting Obstetric Vasculopathies through Study of Diastolic Notch and other Indices of Resistance to Blood Flow in Uterine Artery

Obstetric vasculopathies are a set of apparently heterogeneous and poorly understood conditions. Conditions like recurrent miscarriages due to fetal demise, pre-eclampsia, IUGR, recurrent still births and accidental hemorrhage all seem to have the same underlying etiopathology. They are grouped into one large set coined as ‘Obstetric Vasculopathies’. Resistance to blood flow in the uterine arte...

The effect of isosorbide dinitrate on placental blood flow and maternal blood pressure in women with pregnancy induced hypertension.

The effect of isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN) on maternal and fetal circulation was assessed in 23 women with pregnancy induced hypertension (PIH). A double-blind randomized design was employed. Each woman was given a sublingual tablet of ISDN (5 mg) or placebo. Maternal blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) were measured before and every 2 min after the medication or placebo, for a total of 20 m...
